
Avaya, the leading American Telecommunications provider, sponsors an annual telecommunications conference where business innovative technical solutions are presented. Avaya has recognized HBCS’ IVR solution as “one of the most unique, comprehensive and innovative IVR integration designs available on the market today.” HBCS telecommunications engineering team presented this solution at the Avaya International Conference in Miami, FL, in May ’06 and received the Technical Recognition Award.
HFMA recognizes volunteers in its organization who contribute their time, energy, and ideas to better serve their profession and the healthcare industry. Established in 1960, the Founders Merit Award acknowledges contributions made by individuals through a merit rating system. Its core purpose is to encourage and recognize volunteer contributions as an opportunity for professional development, networking and advocacy. Kathleen Maher, VP Regional Business Development at HBCS, has been recognized by HFMA on three levels within this system. She was awarded the William G. Follmer Bronze Award in 1999, followed by the Robert H. Reeves Silver Award in 2002 and the Frederick T. Muncie Gold award in 2004. Her volunteer participation included several committee memberships and chairmanships, a published article, Regional Committee activity and membership on the Board of Directors.
The staff of HBCS has been recognized by the American Red Cross for helping to bring hope and relief to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. HBCS and its employees contributed $10,000 to the American Red Cross Hurricane
Relief Fund.
HBCS staff was recognized for having the second highest employee participation percentage in their company size category in the Blood Bank of Delmarva Annual Blood Drive. Over 100 companies in the Greater Wilmington area took part in
this event.
